CONCHA Y TORO Other Reds 2005
designation: Casillero del Diablo
vineyard: N/A
region: Chile
review date:
2007-06-23

In a galaxy far, far away the king said, “I shall have fine wine and so shall my people”. A landing party was quickly dispatched to earth and descended upon the devils cellar, where they absconded with the wine I am going to review now. If Hercules were a wine, he would live in Casillero Del Diablo - that’s how powerful this wine is. Big huge fruit assaults the nose with nuances of eucalyptus and mint; on the palate the fruit carries over with the finesse of a fine Cabernet; and for the power of a Syrah, the terrior driven flavors balance this wine in a manner usually only seen in much more expensive wines. The Concha Y Toro Casillero Del Diablo Private Reserve 65% Cabernet, 35% Syrah blend has a luxurious mid-palate mouth-feel and a finish that lingers with enticement leading to your next sip. Culinary diversity is another great advantage of this wine, making it a good match with any highly seasoned bold flavored cuisine (MDME).
