KAIKEN Malbec 2005
designation: N/A
vineyard: N/A
region: Argentina
review date:
2007-05-03

The 2005 Kaiken from the Mendoza region of Argentina is a mouth-watering Malbec made by Montes from Chile. Deep aromas of dark fruit and terrior, redolent of rain soaked farmland. Flavors of sweet berries on a large mocha frame with a racy satisfying finish. Billed as the best from both sides of the Andes I would be inclined to agree. If it’s your turn to bring the wine to dinner impress your dining companions with this wonderful representation of the up and coming Malbec varietal. This would also be a wine to seek out on restaurants wine lists as it is a solid bargain, holding it’s own with wines three times the price (MDME).
