The 2005 Kaiken from the Mendoza region of Argentina is a mouth-watering Malbec made by Montes from Chile. Deep aromas of dark fruit and terrior, redolent of rain soaked farmland. Flavors of sweet berries on a large mocha frame with a racy satisfying finish. Billed as the best from both sides of the Andes I would be inclined to agree. If it�s your turn to bring the wine to dinner impress your dining companions with this wonderful representation of the up and coming Malbec varietal. This would also be a wine to seek out on restaurants wine lists as it is a solid bargain, holding it�s own with wines three times the price (MDME).
