DOMAINE JOLIETTE Other Reds 2003
designation: Cuvée Romain Mercier
vineyard: N/A
region: France - Lang/Roussillon
review date:
2007-01-21

The Cotes du Roussillon-Villages, Cuvee Romain Mercier, Domaine Joliette 2003 was a great vintage. What in the past has been as good wine made the leap to great with the help of a good year, all facets of this wine came together for me. It is eco cert and agriculture biologique certified and that’s plenty good stuff to me. It was not too long ago most organic wines tasted earthy as their growers. Organic now is great from the Sierra Foothills to the South of France; wonderful organic wines are coming to market and we all should take advantage of their attributes. The blend of grapes in this cuvee (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre) brings aroma, structure, acidic balance and down right great taste together in a intensely enjoyable easily approachable wine that makes it worth seeking out (MDME).
