This was the 53rd vintage of this Shiraz from Thorn-Clarke and it was great. My first taste from this producer, but you can bet it will not be my last. Big fruit on the nose made me suspicious it might be a jammy sweet and unpleasant to the palate. I was wrong; the big frame lofts the 14 percent octane to big balanced flavors. The wine has plum and mocha flavors with a great velvety smooth mouth-feel that dissipates evenly to a medium long finish. The food parings would be infinitely versatile (MDME).
