I have an idea in mind: to organize a new tour CRIMEA: WINERIES & TSAR'S PALACES.
Unsurpassed itinerary combines the Black Sea coast, rich historical and archeological past, and geographic beauty of Crimea. Tour includes cities: Sevastopol (Ancient town Chersones, "Inkerman" wine plant), Yalta (Botanic garden, Vorontsov Palace, Livadiya palace, "Massandra" wine plant), Alushta, Bahchisarai (Khan’s palace, Art museum, Uspenkiy cave monastery), Sudak ("Noviy Svet" wineries), Feodosiya ("Koktebel" wine factory). Traditions of wine making in Crimea were started by ancient Greeks. In the 6th century BC a large winery prospered in the vicinity of present day Sevastopol. Today the best natural vines of the plant ‘Inkerman’ are maintained by the thickness of local rocks. Crimean champagne is well known in Europe. Its cradle is the winery "Noviy Svet", situated to the west of Sudak, whose founder was a prince, L.S.Golitsyn. There is a museum of wine making in the town of Noviy Svet, which also has halls for wine tasting. The desert wines like "Massandra", are of special pride in the Crimean wine making industry. Many of them have been specially created for Russian tsars or the aristocracy, and are now maintained in the very same ancient cellars. The factory "Koktebel" (Koktebel is a town to the west of Feodosiya), has unique desert wines and cognacs. There is a Questionnaire to help me to organize a group to reduce a cost of this trip:
1. The most convinient time for you to travel to Crimea?
(Crimea traveling season is April-October, but the best time is spring and autumn.) 2. The length of the tour?
(Tentative length of the tour is 10 days, Crimea only) 3. Do you have any interest to combine this tour with other parts of Ukraine (Kyiv, Lviv, Karpatian Mountains)?
(If tour starts and ends in Kyiv, the there is a possibility to travel by train to Crimea. Then you can get aquainted with the capital of Ukraine. The total length of the tour will be approximately 14 days. There are other possibilities).
